Lisa Lopes killed in car crash

Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, a member of chart-topping US R&B trio TLC, has been killed in a car crash in Honduras.
The 30-year-old, who was on holiday, was reportedly among seven people in the car and was the only fatality.
He said: "No words can possibly express the sorrow and sadness I feel for this most devastating loss. "Lisa was not only a gifted and talented musical inspiration, but more importantly, she was like a daughter to me." He added: "My thoughts and prayers are with Lisa's family and friends. Her legacy will be remembered forever." Award-winning Her bandmates, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas issued a statement saying they were "as close as a family". They added that they had "truly lost our sister".
She also had a hit UK single when she sang with Spice Girl Mel C on Never Be The Same Again. Last year she made the UK top 20 with her single The Block Party. Recently she reportedly signed a solo deal with the Death Row label to release a record under the pseudonym Nina - standing for New Identity Not Applicable.
Controversy Lopes made the headlines in 1994 after she was arrested for burning down the house of then-boyfriend, former Atlanta Falcons American football player, Andre Rison. She was fined and sentenced to five years' probation, and then entered rehab to deal with a drinking problem. Despite their problems, they announced last year that they intended to marry. In September 2000 the singer sparked a nationwide search after she went missing. Her family and friends had not seen her for two weeks and they made an appeal for her to contact them. She was eventually tracked down to a New Orleans hotel where she had been staying with a friend.
