Miss B's statement
![]() One of Miss B's solicitors reads her statement
Miss B has given her reaction to the High Court's decision that she has the right to refuse treatment.
In a statement through her solicitors - Leigh Day & Co, Miss B said : "This is a balanced and well thought out judgement and I am very pleased with the outcome of this case. The law on consent to treatment is very clear and this has been a long, unnecessary and personally painful process. I hope the judgement will be a useful document for future decision making. For this NHS Trust, the most positive outcome would be for them to take heed of the judgement and put in place proper governance arrangements for dealing with these issues. I would like to say thank you to my legal team, my friends and family for their support. I gratefully ask for the press to continue to respect my privacy." |
