In pictures: Funeral pomp and ceremony
Led by the Massed Pipes and Drums, comprising 192 musicians from 13 regiments,
the Queen Mother's funeral procession witnessed scenes of pomp and ceremony not seen in London since Sir Winston Churchill's burial in 1965.

![]() The mass band of pipers played as the funeral procession headed towards Westminster Abbey
![]() The gun carriage carrying the coffin was led by the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery
![]() The Duke of York, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal and Prince Edward followed the carriage
![]() The Prince of Wales wore full military dress for the funeral procession
![]() A 2,000 strong congregation awaited the arrival of the coffin at Westminster Abbey
