Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has promised a coalition government "that will work", at his first joint press conference with Prime Minister David Cameron.

And he echoed a Conservative election promise "that takes power away from politicians... and gives it back to you".

He said they would "ensure that everybody has the chance to live the life they want to live", offering "fairer taxes, better schools, a fair, green economy".
