The food is piling up in warehouses
Britain has again urged the international community to put pressure on the government of Sudan to reach agreement with rebel forces so that urgently-needed food supplies can be delivered.

The British Minister for International Development, Clare Short, accused the Sudan government of deliberately inflicting starvation on some three-hundred-and-fifty-thousand people in the south of the country.

Speaking in a BBC interview, she said it was a monstrous evil.

Ms Short said that neither the government in Khartoum nor the rebel forces SPLA really wanted peace.
