Two Yugoslav prisoners of war held by the United States are expected to be released shortly.
A US military official confirmed the prisoners would be released, and said it should happen on Monday.
The prisoners would be handed over to the Red Cross, after which their release would be announced, the official said.
The two men were captured in Yugoslavia by the rebel Kosovo Liberation Army, and taken to Albania where they were handed over to the US military.
They are currently being held at a US military base in Germany.
Following the release of three US servicemen by the Yugoslavia earlier this month, US President Bill Clinton said the release of the Yugoslav prisoners was under consideration.
US Defence Secretary William Cohen said at the time that the move to release the Yugoslavs should not be interpreted as a softening of Nato's line against Belgrade.
